The finale of our Jump Rope/Hoops campaign was our wrap-up assembly, held this morning. Representatives from the Heart and Stroke Foundation were on hand as our school presented them with a cheque for $7,104.85, the result of our two week Jump and Hoops fundraising effort.
The top fundraisers in the school were Connor $546, Kirsten $350, Paige $240, Bella $165, Kyle $153, Thomas $125.50, Megan $125, Emily $125, Nicholas $125, Zach $125. Mrs. Strype’s class wins a pizza party, for being the class that raised the most money, an amazing amount of $1,144.10 and had the most students participating.
Then it was on to the fun of silly stringing Mrs. Kemp, Mrs. Grantham, Mrs. Linton and Ms. Davies. Which was followed by Mrs. Thibault, Mrs. Cuthbertson, Mrs. Hicks and Miss Maurino dressing up for the day.
Also, as a result of our great fundraising effort we were able to convert our Heartsmart points into a cheque for $496.00, which the school will donate to the relief effort in Haiti.
In an interesting piece of trivia, W. H. Day has been participating in this Heart and Stroke fundraiser for 8 years……and in that time our school has raised a total of $46, 842!
A big thank you to our school community in making this fundraiser such a success!
